Yes, I love to back horses in the Betfair place markets at juicy decimal odds, and I have written a horse racing system dedicated to this approach. But I have never really given much thought to a lay the place horse racing system. This seems not to be in my radar!
I am not keen on this type of racing system as it looks like a minefield, which end of the place betting market do you lay at is my first question? This approach of laying horses requires more skill than laying a horse to lose a race in the win market.
If we look at the top end of the place market i.e. the top 3 in the betting this surely requires more work to determine if they will be placed or not.
I cannot really justify this approach to laying horses in the place market it’s as simple as that.
