Racecards
Racecards Racingpost
When I refer to racecards I mean the excellent racing post racecards which I use daily on the internet which are free of charge for my reading horse form. These racecards are jam packed with horse form data and statistics and can be configured the way you want to view them. I personally like the way you can display the last 5 or 6 races for any horse on the racecard to allow for fast recent horse form study for a race.
Using the racecard screenshot you can see the last 5 races a horse has run in.
Underlined in purple you can see the jockey and trainer.
I have also underlined in red the OR - Official rating and the TS - Top speed.

For each horse in the race card there are numerous horse form variables, write ups and ratings. I especially like the OR – Official rating and the TS – Top speed rating.
For each horse in the racecard you will see the jockey and trainer and next to the jockey sometimes there is a numerical value to indicate the jockey is a claimer. In other words, the jockey is claiming a weight allowance.
At the top of the racecard is the title of the race, race distance and the class of the race e.g. class 6 etc and finally prize money. It also displays the number of runners in the race and importantly to me the ground conditions at the course like good, firm etc.
The racing post racecards are a valuable tool in my everyday horse racing form study. They provide a worldwide coverage of horse racing.
Using The Racecard To Drill Down Further On A Horse
As I mentioned earlier the initial view of a racing post racecard can configured to display the last 6 races a horse has run in which is great for speed reading horse form. Further horse and course statistics and horse form can be obtained by clicking on a horse. When I drill down on a horse’s past form, I can quickly see the horse’s winning prize money under all race codes it has run in, total number of wins and all the previous races a horse has run in displayed in a nice format that is easy to read.
This ability to drill down on horse allows me to build a picture of a horse’s racing career and to put this into context to the race on the racecard I am studying. This is an important part of my horse form reading.
Racecard Horse Comments And Writeups
In my opinion these are brilliant and provide excellent pointers and information for any horse in the racecard.
Finally, these brilliant racingpost racecards are available to everyone.
