Betfair Price Movements

Betfair Price Movements N Minutes Out

N minutes where N is a numeric value.

This is a good topic having looked at this for many years and I am talking about UK and Irish Horse racing pre-race off i.e. N minutes out and 5 seconds before a race starts. I looked at the first 9 in the betting market and on the back of this I have written two books on this subject. Towards the top of the market i.e. the first and second favourites  a positive price movement (horse shortening) did not really indicate if a horse was going to win the race. It is mainly people exiting their trade position before a race starts. However, there were certain key observations regarding price movements I have documented in my books. This is the same for all 9 horses in the betting but with larger price differentials at the unfancied horses in the market.

My Approach To Betfair Price Movements.

I tend to focus on the favourite and 2nd favourite in a race.
If there is a negative price movement I back to lay the horse.
If there is positive price movement I lay to back the horse.
All this is done in running or in-play, risky you may ask but I use a small percentage offset without greening.

For the other end of the market if it is a large price movement and not silly decimal odds I will place a straight back bet.

Hope you enjoyed this.
