Ok this is a big topic, and you could probably write many books on this. I have written four to five books on Betfair trading strategies around UK and Irish horse racing using the excellent Betfair betting exchange. I always use the excellent Bet Angel software that interfaces with the Betfair betting exchange for automation and one click trading. So let us get down to some detail on a Betfair trading strategy I use to make some healthy profits.

Betfair In-Play UK And Irish Horse Racing

When I say in-play I mean when the race is being run.
I love this approach as most traders will approach a horse racing betting market five to three minutes before the race starts. This is when most money is being traded as traders are entering and exiting their positions in the Betfair betting market.

I like to use in-play trading based on the Betfair decimal odds of my horse selections being considerably greater than the decimal odds before the race starts.  If a horse is decimal odds 3.0 before a race starts and I can get decimal odds 20.0 in-play then that’s a result. Obviously, the horse selection must win the race!

I remember as I sat and watched the Betfair screen as my selection drifted to decimal odds 20.0 in-play. It’s a nice feeling when it wins!
