Dutching Calculator A Solution

I use a dutching calculator for several reasons and I will explain later in this article. But I primarily use it to,

1.    Work out the percentage book value of my dutching selections for a race.
2.    Place my dutching selections bets on a race.
The tool I use for this is the excellent Bet Angel software. I have been using this software since 2007, and the product has matured over the years in terms of functionality. I use the software for many other reasons like one click trading and automating betting and trading on many sporting markets.

So Why Do We Need A Dutching Calculator

It simply makes calculating the stake to place on your selections in a race. If we were to place a £100 on 5 selections as follows,

Total stake = £100
Profit £11.85
Book Percentage 89.4

Horse         Decimal Odds        Stake
A        3.25                34.35
B        4.8                 23.22
C        5.7                19.56
D        6.8                16.48
E        18.0                6.21
F        30.0

We have backed 5 horses out of a 6 runner field for a book value of 89% and a profit of approximately £11. There is only one horse to beat here at decimal odds of 30.0. You might have 6 or 7 successive wins with this approach, but the next race will catch you it always does and this is my opinion.

You are risking £100 for £11 return I would not.

By the way the above was a real race I just changed the horse’s names.
