Longshot Horses

Longshot Horses A Myth Or Not

This is a simple Saturday scenario, it’s 11am in the UK a packed horse racing card and we fancy a low risk bet for a high return, that being a longshot selection. Maybe we are going out for a meal that evening or a bill needs paying, you never know. I am not even going to throw in accumulators and other big return payout bets etc. We are looking for a double figured priced horse at 20/1 or bigger with a £5 each way stake that pays for some event I think we have all been there!

Longshot Horse Tips And The Maths Do Not Mix

Back to maths school here if a horse selection is at decimal odds 2.0 or evens in old money has an even chance of winning the race.
Now you back a double figured priced horse what mathematical chance or implied probability of winning the race do you have?
Very low!

It’s like cramming 12 eggs into a six egg holder, yes people say it can be done, but how many are broken when you arrive home from the shops?

So we cannot view evens, decimal odds 2.0 shot horses with the same chance as a 20/1 shot horses! I hope this shows in simple maths terms of backing longshot horses, they do win races!

Hope you enjoyed it.
